Privacy

Short version: Clocktopus doesn't ask for or keep any personal information about you or your child. Visit statistics run only if a grown-up allows them.
For children
We don't know who you are, and we don't want to! Your stars and hats are kept on this device, not sent to us. You never need to tell us your name. If you have a question, ask a grown-up to email us.
What we don't do
- No accounts, logins or sign-up.
- No adverts of any kind.
- No advertising cookies, pixels or social media widgets. The only cookies are Google Analytics statistics, and only if a grown-up allows them.
- No embedded videos or content from other companies.
- No chat, and nothing your child types is saved or sent anywhere.
- Fonts and images are served from this site, not from other companies.
What is saved, and where
Game progress (such as stars, stickers, Ollie's hats and the chosen level) and settings (such as UK or US wording and sound on or off) are saved in your browser's own storage on this device, only so the game can remember them for you. They are never sent to us. This is not a cookie, and nothing is used to track you. Clearing your browser data removes it. If your browser blocks storage, the game still works; it just won't remember progress.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like every website host, Cloudflare briefly handles your device's internet (IP) address to deliver the pages and keep the site safe from attacks. We don't keep server logs of our own and never use this to identify anyone.
Visit statistics
The first time you visit, a small bar asks a grown-up whether we may count visits. If you tap Allow, we use Google Analytics to see how Clocktopus is used: which pages are visited, and things like how many chapters are finished or worksheets printed. Google Analytics sets cookies on this device (named _ga) and records the page, a rough location (country or city), the type of device and browser, and where the visit came from. It never receives names, answers or anything your child types.
We have turned off Google's advertising features and Google signals, nothing is used for adverts or profiling, and Google deletes the data after 2 months. Google processes it for us; see Google's privacy policy. If you tap No thanks, Google Analytics is never loaded.
Statistics on this device are off.
The iPhone and iPad app
The Clocktopus app isn't out yet. Before it launches, this page will explain exactly what it uses, including how subscriptions and purchases work.
